Olivia Newton-John lists her 6,482-square-foot house in Malibu, CA for $14M
Singer Olivia Newton-John has listed her 6,482-square-foot house in the Serra area of Malibu, Calif. for $14,000,000. 
Props to our friends over at the Real Estalker for breaking the story this morning of Newton-John’s listing of the house at 3210 Retreat Court in Malibu, which just came on the market on December 14. As we have noted many times in the past, Retreat Court historically has been one of the most celebrity-intensive streets in the entire country. Also as we have noted in the past, Newton-John paid $5,995,000 in 2004 through her Colony Trust to buy the house from the late actor Charles Bronson’s widow, Kim, according to public records. Newton-John previously had lived in a smaller, 4,395-square-foot house at 23449 Malibu Colony Road, which she sold in early 2005 for $6,150,000, according to public records. Both of these transactions occurred before Newton-John’s boyfriend, Patrick McDermott, mysteriously vanished from a fishing charter boat in June 2005, never to be seen again. As such, McDermott clearly had spent some time in the Retreat Court house. Built in 1983, the five-bedroom Mediterranean-style house that Newton-John is selling has six baths, high ceilings, a great room, a large master suite with two bathrooms, a media room, a family room with a bar, a dining room, a cook’s kitchen, and additional bedroom suites, according to listing information. The 1.284-acre property contains a two-bedroom guest house, a spa, a pool, and a sprawling lawn area with gorgeous oak trees, according to listing information. Check out an online listing sheet for Newton-John’s house — complete with a photo — here. It’s unclear where Newton-John is off to (although we’d be surprised if it were anywhere other than Malibu). The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
