Tabloid mainstay Nicole Richie has sold her condominium unit in the Empire West building in West Hollywood, Calif. for $2,250,000.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the sale of Richie’s 2,246-square-foot, 10th-floor unit at 1100 Alta Loma Road in West Hollywood, which she had purchased in early 2005 through her CNR Trust for $1,180,000. Public records show that Richie’s sale closed on October 29. The deal was recorded on December 7. The buyers are not celebrities.
Our pals over at the Real Estalker posted a customarily terrific scoop back on October 13 of Richie’s listing of the two-bedroom, 2.5-bath unit for $2,300,000. And we previously had broken the story on September 28 of the $1,200,000 amount that Nicole’s dad, singer Lionel Richie, paid to buy a town house at 2300 Century Hl in Los Angeles’ Century City area from actor Dennis Franz, apparently as a ‘surprise’ for his daughter and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden.
It’s unclear where the couple will hang their hats now. It’s hard to believe that they will look a gift horse in the mouth by *not* occupying the Century City town house. At the same time, Nicole and Joel are expecting their first child, and they reportedly have also been considering a suburban-style house in L.A. (where Nicole wants to stay), as well as looking at units in downtown Manhattan (where Joel would like to hang his hat).
