Michael Jordan and his Cuban-born model girlfriend Yvette Prieto pay $281K for a house in Miami, FL
Basketball great Michael Jordan and his Cuban-born model girlfriend Yvette Prieto have paid $281,000 to purchase a house in the gated Highlands at Kendall area of Miami Fla.
The Palm Beach Post broke the story, we think, this week of the home purchase by the pair. Jordan has been a free man since his 2006 divorce from his wife of 17 years, Juanita Jordan (although many would argue that MJ had operated as a “free man” for a lot longer than that!), which involved a $168 million settlement to Juanita, making it the most expensive celebrity divorce ever.
Built in 1996, the couple’s new house has three bedrooms and two baths (according to public records) or four bedrooms and two and a half baths (according to listing information), and sits on a 0.13-acre (5,560-square-foot) lot, according to public records. The house measures between 2,200 and 2,600 square feet, and not the 5,500-square-foot figure that the Palm Beach Post had reported; the Post’s columnist clearly confused the size of the lot, which is 5,560 square feet, with the size of the house. Public records say that the house measures 2,517 square feet, but we separately found other public records and listing information calling it 2,235 square feet.
We also found listing information for the house — we’re not entirely sure from when — online at a time that the house appears to have been listed for $340,000. If that was indeed the asking price when MJ and Yvette bought it, they got one heck of a steal! The listing information reads (including typos and lack of capitalization): “Spacious 4/2.5 home near the upcoming Baptist Hospital and Mall located on kendall Drive and 160th st. recently remodeled, new paint, new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, corian countertop, wood cabinetry. Beautiful pool in backyard with ample space remaining. tile floors on first level, and laminated wood floors on second level. short sale package already initiated. No time to lose! bring all offers to close in less than 60 days! call agent for instructions!”
Jordan and Prieto took out a $196,000, 30-year mortgage on the house, according to public records.
Jordan, 46, owns several other properties, including his longtime mansion at 2700 Point Lane in Highland Park, Illinois; a penthouse unit in the building at 1100 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago; and two vacant lots in the Bears Club in Jupiter, Fla., which he purchased last year for $4,800,000.

Nice place, but a little out of the center of action in Miami. However, very lose to a Home Depot in case Michael decides to do a little work around the place. Lots of agricultural land just blocks to the West which he can raid for extra food.
That and a hot Cuban lady: what more could a guy ask for.

Michael, I am proud of you by not allowing another women to take you for a ride. You’ve worked very hard for your money, so please continue to be cautious. We all know that you bought this house, your girlfriend don’t even have a job so we know she didn’t have hand nor foot in the expense. However, it is wise of you to not have purchase a very expensive dwelling with your girlfriend, cause if you two breakup she won’t get a lawyer and cry “palimony. continue to think with your brain and remember love aint got a dam thing to do with it, cause if you two break up she is going to take you to the cleaners. Why is he buying a home for $281,000? She just took some of the millions not all! If I had just $25 million, I’d still buy me a $4 million home!

Actually, I heard that mj is the one living in the mansion in Highland Park while Juanita lives in downtown Chicago. That mansion is still his primary residence.
Also MJ probably bought that house on the advise of his lawyers. I think he is about to marry that girl and that house will be their marital residence. Probably won’t stay there much. This girl cannot come back and claim that she is accustomed to a certain life style in case things don’t work out. She is also owner of 3 businesses in miami and probably paying part of the mortgage just to establish a pattern.
Its strange that MJ would get the Highland Park home when the courts usually allows the spouse w primary custody retain the home. Besides, he’s not there; MJ lives in Miami now-away from the kids.

after some investigating, this is what i found out.
1) mj spends all of his time in miami with yvette, not in chicago where he lists his”primary residence” and children reside.
3)mj’s friends admit that he didn’t live in that manison for a long time before he and juanita divorced. he kept a place in downtown chicago and another home in highland park.
2)Yvette is not the first girlfriend that he has purchased homes before. He has/had a mistress in california whose house he brought and stayed with her whenever traveling to cali.
I believe like you that mj and yvette are about to marry. why would he still lists chicago as his residence? why would he want a manison that he didn’t live in for some time, but that his ex wife and her children used? why would he purchase 2 big lots in florida? he’s an a-hole if he took that house from juanita and the kids.
I am happy for him. This is his personal business; He is the man in my eyes, now and forever. In the end, it is his choice and he has been right with most of his choices. Even the best of us may make mistakes . That is his right. He has to live with her, not you folks., so Leave them be.

i came across an marcus jordan interview in which he states that he’ll be closer to his dad when he moves to florida for school. mj does live in florida now.
Have you seen that mansion in highland Park? It has a golf course and basketball and tennis courts. Things that mj is interested in not Juanita. I don’t think Juanita wanted to be responsible for the up keep of that place. Plus their 2 kids go to school near their mom’s downtown home. They had to have that residence in order to be able to go to that school.
Also mj has homes all over the world and most of them are on golf courses.
The above answer is for you. Also he didn’t live in that mansion during the latter stage of their marriage because he was separated from his wife. I think they separated in 2003 but waited for the kids to mature a bit before they ended their marriage.

I think mj spends more time with his kids than anyone knows. It is just not on camera. MJ just recently brought rappers Drake and Lil Wayne for Marcus’s graduation party in Chicago. He was there too but no pictures were taken.
On Father’s Day, Marcus Jordan wished all the dads who take care of their families a Happy Father’s Day. He never mentioned his dad. But, on Juanita’s B-Day , he wished his “beautiful mother” Happy Birthday. Makes you wonder!!!

The year the Bulls won the last championship a man who worked in my neighborhood told me that Michael Jordan told him he’s in love with me and is going to marry me. I asked him how MJ was going to do that when he was already married to Juanita. He told me that Michael said he was going to get a divorce and marry me.
When I moved here I told Michael I will marry you when you get your divorce.

Michael Jordan is probably in love for the first time. He did not marry Juanita until she was pregnant with their 2nd child. Or maybe he really can never truly know what real love is because too many women are in love with money. He has my deepest sympathies, and admiration. He has worked extremely hard for the money he has, while playing through excrutiating pain to earn his salary, and try to motivate his fellow players to professional basketball excellence, unparalled. Must be mighty hard to see the real throughout all of the phonies, white , black, brown, red or whatever. Even regular unknown people have a hard time trying to not get played. (male & female alike) I only wish for him peace and happiness in this cold, cruel world within his lifetime. I’m glad that he “manned up” and married his childrens’ mother, left her in good financial condition, and I pray he has left trusts for the children for what they will have to deal with simply by carrying his name. I hope this young lady is not a skeezer, skank, or money-grubber, especially if she is pregnant. I agree with you. There are a lot of black women out there that is deserving of well-professional black men. It so hard when the white women are out there scouting for them. And then when something goes wrong they throw the black men right back at us.

First and foremost I think that it was the rite thing to do as far as to getting a divorce. Lets be honest ! Michael Jordan will not ever have a problem getting a women . Also its always been told that Michael has never had a problem going out with other women even when he was married . Sometimes in life , family will be the first ones to screw u over . Having said that im sure that Juanita was smart enough to know that u never have a child by someone until ur married first. Also she knew the type of lifestyle that he was going to have at some point and time in life so i feel that she got what she deserved and she could have walked at any time .
