Melissa Etheridge lists her longtime house in Hidden Hills, CA for $4.995M

Singer Melissa Etheridge has placed her longtime, country English-style house in Hidden Hills, Calif. on the market for $4,995,000.

The listing is hardly a surprise, given the news in September — reported here and elsewhere — that Etheridge had paid $5,100,000 in May for another, 6,505-square-foot house in Hidden Hills.

Yesterday, a commenter on our blog gave us the heads-up that Etheridge’s longtime, 6,837-square-foot house in Hidden Hills, which she purchased in 2004 for $3,595,000, had come on the market. And early today, our friends over at the Real Estalker provided their typically first-rate take on the listing.

Built in 1978 and located at 5209 Saddle Creek Road in Hidden Hills, the 6,837-square-foot house that Etheridge is selling has six bedrooms, six and a half baths, hardwood floors, high beam ceilings, and a downstairs master suite with travertine marbles, a steam shower, a free-standing tub, a dry sauna and his and hers water closets, according to listing information. The house also has a granite center island kitchen. We should note that we probably wouldn’t have provided the house’s address (Etheridge’s reps in the past have criticized us for this), but the listing sheet explicitly states that the house is celebrity owned.
