Media personality Leeza Gibbons' 11,134-square-foot, Mediterranean-style house just north of Los Angeles' Sunset Strip finally may have a buyer, if some activity this past week is any indication.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report that Los Angeles' multiple listing service changed the status of Gibbons' house, which had been on the market for $7,995,000, to 'looking for backup,' which usually is a signal that the house has a buyer and is headed toward closing escrow. Leeza, 50, and her estranged actor/architect husband listed the eight-bedroom house, at 1760 Courtney Avenue in Los Angeles, late last year for $7,995,000. We wrote about the house way back on December 22, 2006. Leeza has never reduced her asking price for the house.
Built in 1924, the house has been completely renovated and remodeled and has six and a half baths, two kitchens, a large master suite, and elegantly applied carved moldings, stone, hardwood, iron, and fixtures, according to listing information. The estate also contains a one-bedroom guest house with an office and artist studio, and it sits on a 0.87-acre lot up a long driveway behind gates on a street that extends north from Hollywood Boulevard. Gibbons and her husband had purchased the house in 2000 for close to $2 million.
