Retired model, fashion designer and occasional actress Kimora Lee Simmons has purchased a house in Beverly Hills, Calif. that had been on the market for $5.9 million.
Once again, we have to give props to our friends over at the Real Estalker for breaking the news of the purchase of the seven-bedroom home at 9551 Lime Orchard Road by Simmons, 32. Public records show that her purchase closed on June 21, but the sale wasn’t recorded until August 1. Our public records databases don’t yet show a precise purchase price, but we’ll of course provide one for you here when it becomes available.
Built in 1974, Simmons’ new 5,923-square-foot house sits on a 0.61-acre parcel. Features in the remodeled, country-style home include eight and a half baths, a large living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a breakfast area, a family/media room, distressed hardwood floors, and a master suite, according to listing information. Outside are a large swimming pool, a guest apartment and a tennis court, according to listing information.
Simmons’ new house is literally next door to the 5,500-square-foot, onetime Ellen DeGeneres house at 9555 Lime Orchard Road that Jessica Simpson’s Lime Orchard Trust purchased in late 2005 for $5,275,000, according to public records.
We’ll also keep you posted on the status of Simmons’ five-bedroom, 5,818-square-foot Mediterranean-style home at 1501 N. Doheny Drive in the Bird Streets area of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills, which Simmons had had on the market earlier this year for $5.8 million (and which her soon-to-be-former husband Russell deeded over to her on June 11, according to public records). That home, which we wrote about on May 20, no longer is on the market, suggesting that a sale process may be taking place as we write this.
