Katy Perry: Wants to Sell Her L.A. Mansion Privately, But Isn’t Getting the Offers She Wants Rocker Katy Perry is feeling the real-estate pain.
According to a report from TMZ.com, Perry has been informally shopping the seven-bedroom, 8,835-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles that she bought in 2011 with then-husband Russell Brand for $6.5 million.
Perry apparently has been hoping for a good bit more than she’s hearing from potential buyers. TMZ reported that Perry has been aiming to sell the house for $8 million. As you can see from the photos, the house isn’t exactly to everyone’s tastes.
TMZ reported that if Perry can’t find a buyer, she’ll list it in the Los Angeles MLS in two weeks, likely with an asking price in the mid-$7 million range (so, around $7.5 million). TMZ’s sources also told the website that Perry will sell if someone offers in the high $6 million range.
Built in 1925, the house is in the lower Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles and sits on a nearly 3-acre promontory.
So if Perry’s selling this house, where is she living? The Huffington Post’s Ann Brenoff recently reported that Perry is considering leasing a four-bedroom, 6,500-square-foot contemporary-style house in the “Bird Streets” area of the Hollywood Hills. Brenoff also reported that she thinks Perry currently is renting somewhere in West Hollywood.
