Hip-hop star Kanye West appears to be close to a deal to sell the ramshackle six-bedroom house in Beverly Hills, Calif. that he recently has had on the market for $8,699,000, given that the listing sheet in Los Angeles' multiple listing service now reports that Kanye is "looking for backup."

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the change in status to the 0.79-acre Beverly Hills property. When a seller is "looking for backup," that typically means that a buyer has been found and that a deal to sell is in the works.

Almost a month ago, we wrote about Kanye listing the property, at 631 N. Crescent Drive in the flats of Beverly Hills, just eight months after he purchased it for $7,150,000. Kanye never actually moved into the property, whose six-bedroom house is in what is called tear-down condition (as the photos indicate).

Instead, Kanye lives up in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills, in a house he purchased in late 2003 for $1,750,000. We wrote a lengthy post about that house on November 11.

Check out the online listing sheet for the Crescent Drive property.

As always, we'll keep you posted on if Kanye is able to flip his Beverly Hills property -- and also, of course, if so, for how much.
