Although we generally avoid writing about rentals, we can't help weighing in on Jon Gosselin of "Jon & Kate" fame, and his new rental apartment in the Alexandria building on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Reports have it that the newly emancipated Jon has just moved into a two-bedroom apartment in the Alexandria building, which is at 201 W. 72nd Street in Manhattan. People magazine seems to be leading the charge on the following of Gosselin's housing situation, noting first on Friday that Jon's new girlfriend Hailey Glassman (shown here with Jon) has not yet stayed overnight in Jon's new pad. People also pointed out on Friday that one source in the building claimed Jon "was very friendly." (insightful reporting!)
Then, on Saturday, People reported that Jon had dropped off some belongings and a large flat screen TV at the apartment over the weekend -- this, at the same time as his now-estranged wife Kate also was in New York with their eight youngsters for a photo shoot.
There have been no reports yet on what Jon is paying for his new pad, but other two-bedroom apartments in the building are up for rent for $4,800 and $5,000 a month.
As for Kate, she's still residing with their brood at the couple's 6,200-square-foot house on 23.88 acres on Heffner Road in Wernersville, Penn., which the couple closed on last fall for $1,120,000. Check out this link for photos and more information on the Gosselins' homestead.
As if all that weren't enough, the Gosselins' former house, the five-bedroom home at 2190 Andrew Avenue in Elizabethtown, Penn., remains on the market for $315,000. It previously had been listed for $325,000. The couple bought it for $280,000 in 2006.
