Joel McHale, an actor and the host of E!’s “The Soup,”: has paid $1,880,000 to purchase a four-bedroom house in the Oaks area of Los Angeles” Los Feliz area, and has his three-bedroom house in Glendale, Calif. on the market for $815,000.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on McHale’s purchase and on his listing. We will first discuss the purchase by McHale, 36, of the 3,451-square-foot house in the Oaks, which had been listed for $1,929,000. The purchase closed on November 15 and was recorded on December 5.

Built in 1947, McHale’s newly acquired, two-story house sits on a quiet cul-de-sac and has four updated baths, a two-story foyer, a large living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room and a new gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, according to listing information. Other features include a large family room, and an office with a separate entrance, according to listing information. Outside on the 0.32-acre property are expansive bricked entertaining and garden areas, a barbecue area and a spa, according to listing information.

McHale’s previous residence, his 1,634-square-foot house at 1238 N. Howard St. in Glendale, currently is on the market for $815,000. The three-bedroom house has one full bath and one three-quarter bath, according to listing information. Built in 1929, the Spanish-style house is in the Rossmoyne area of Glendale. Features include original tiles in the bathrooms, lots of closet space, a living room with a fireplace, a separate dining room that connects to a breakfast room, and hardwood floors, according to listing information.

McHale had purchased the house in Glendale in early 2004 for $605,000, according to public records.
