Rocker Jakob Dylan appears to have a buyer for his seven-bedroom, 5,065-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area, which most recently has been on the market for $8,995,000.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report in the change in status on Dylan’s Spanish-style house. We had written about this house on November 4, when we didn’t know its owner, as part of our ever-popular “Which celebrity’s house is this?” feature. At that time, the house had hit the market for $11,000,000. Since that time, Dylan (shown here with the original King Cool, Elvis Costello) has reduced his asking price to just under $9 million.

On June 16, the house shifted in the MLS to “looking for backup” — meaning an offer has been submitted and accepted, and if things hold together, the deal will close shortly. Records show that Dylan’s Cliffwood Trust purchased the house for $3,180,000 in 2000.

Built in 1936, the house, which is in the Brentwood Park neighborhood, has eight baths and has been restored, upgraded and expanded, according to public records and listing information. Features include a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an island, a sprawling family room, a double master, original tile, original woodwork, and seven unique custom fireplaces, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.64-acre (27,835-square-foot), gated lot include trees, gardens, a newer two-story guesthouse, a second guesthouse that’s currently used as a recording studio, a covered pool and a spa with an automatic cover, according to public records and listing information. The house officially was listed on Halloween 2008.

Where is Dylan off to? We don’t know for sure, but we’ll be monitoring the situation closely. Stay tuned.
