If you like piña coladas — and four-bedroom traditional-style houses in Scarsdale, N.Y. — you can purchase singer/composer/playwright Rupert Holmes’ 2,530-square-foot house, which has been listed for $1,387,000. Holmes in December paid $860,000 for a house in Cold Spring, N.Y.
In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” singer’s listing of his house, which is in the Crane Berkley section of Scarsdale, and of his recent purchase in Cold Spring.
First, let’s discuss the house that Holmes is selling. Built in 1959, Holmes’ house has four baths, a vaulted ceiling entrance foyer, and large upper and lower recreational spaces, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.27-acre (11,761-square-foot) property include pond and park views, and a lushly planted, private rear yard, according to public records and listing information.
Records show that Holmes paid $860,000 on December 19 (deal recorded January 9) to purchase a four-bedroom, 2,280-square-foot house in Cold Spring, N.Y. Built in 2005, Holmes’ new house sits on a 0.59-acre (25,700-square-foot) lot, according to public records.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
