House in Ridgefield, CT that comedian Chris Elliott once owned sells again for an undisclosed price after being listed for $1.689M
A 7,667-square-foot, Colonial-style house in Ridgefield, Conn. that comedian Chris Elliott once owned has been sold again by its current owners for an undisclosed price after it had been on the market for $1,689,000.
We should emphasize that Elliott, who starred in the film "Cabin Boy," is *not* the actual seller of this house. Public records show that Elliott and his wife, Paula, sold the house in March 2008 for $1,900,000. Since that time, the buyers were transferred to Dubai, according to our sources, and they had to put the five-bedroom house back on the market, most recently for $1,689,000.
Features in the two-story house include five full baths; two half baths; architectural details like hardwoods, granite, stone and marble; a grand two-story entrance foyer with a mahogany front door; a formal living room with a fireplace and built-ins; a library with French doors; a kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances and top-of-the-line finishes; a windowed breakfast room; a formal dining room with a large picture window; a family room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace; and a master suite with a sitting room, according to listing information. Other features include nine-foot ceilings on the first floor, a rear staircase, a security system, an upper level laundry room, a central vacuum, and a finished, 1,900-square-foot, walk-out lower level with a playroom, a game room, an exercise room and a full bath, according to listing information. The house sits on a 2.45-acre lot that backs up to the Town Conservancy, according to public records.

Although we are not 100 percent positive where Elliott and his wife now are living (stay tuned on that), they do own at least two other properties, according to public records:
--A building on 1.73 acres in Old Lyme Conn., which they purchased in August 2008 for $905,000, according to public records (the property had been a nut museum at one time);
--A house on 2.1 acres in Harpswell, Maine.
Elliott and his wife sold a house on 5.9 acres at 70 Middlebrook Farm Road in Wilton, Conn. for $1,800,000 in January 2003 after having bought it in 1995 for $1,000,000, according to public records. And, they sold what appears to have been an investment property at 106 Mares Hill Road in Ivoryton/Essex, Conn. in 1996 for $175,000, according to public records.
