Ex-wife of James Pankow of the band Chicago lists her house in Malibu, CA for either $4.995M or $4.495M, depending on the source
Karen Pankow, whose long-ago ex-husband (divorced since 1993!) is a founding member of the band Chicago, has placed her six-bedroom contemporary Mediterranean-style house in Malibu, Calif. on the market for either $4,495,000 or $4,995,000, depending on which source one consults. 
The Los Angeles Times’ Ann Brenoff will break the story on Sunday of the listing of Pankow’s house at 3874 Puerco Canyon Road in Malibu, just off the Pacific Coast Highway. If Pankow’s street name sounds familiar, that’s because as we reported back on June 4, 2007, Oscar-winning director James Cameron has owned and tried to sell huge amounts of ranchland in the Malibu area, some having the address of 3104 Puerco Canyon Road. Records show that Pankow paid $1,745,000 in 1998 to purchase the house on Puerco Canyon Drive, which sits on a 1.539-acre parcel. Features in the house, which was built in 1993, include six and a half baths, two-story vaulted ceilings, an elevator, large open spaces, and a pool and spa area, according to public records and listing information. Public records show that the house measures 5,447 square feet, while Brenoff reports that it contains 6,400 square feet. The property’s guest house has high arched windows, according to listing information. “It’s an amazing place to entertain,” Pankow told Brenoff in an interview. Brenoff reported that Pankow told her she is selling the house because her children are grown, and she is looking for something smaller in Malibu. Regarding the asking price, Brenoff reported that the property is on the market ‘for $4.5 million,’ while online listing information reports that it’s up for $4,995,000. The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
