Ex-Bear Tank Johnson selling Gurnee home

On Tuesday, recently released Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson placed his 13-room house in north suburban Gurnee on the market for $699,900.This is the home where, in December, police found unregistered weapons and a small quantity of marijuana in a raid.

Records show that Johnson paid $545,000 in 2004 for the custom-built, two-story house. Features in the 3,306-square-foot house, which was built in1993, include four bedrooms, 3Q baths, an all-brick fireplace in the family room, a first-floor library/den, a large kitchen, and hardwood floors throughout most of the first floor, according to listing information. The house also has a master suite with a whirlpool, a deck and a three-car garage.

NBA STAR: Miami Heat forward and Chicago native Antoine Walker has placed his six-bedroom River North mansion on the market for$3.9 million, just days after he and another individual were robbed at gunpoint inside the home. He also has sold his town home a block away for $1.39 million.

Walker, 30, paid $4.1 million in August through his A W Realty LLC company for the 7,200-square-foot mansion on West Huron Street that he now is selling for $200,000 less,according to public records. Features in the three-story mansion include 6Q half baths, 15-foot ceilings on the first floor, hardwood floors, custom upgrades, two fireplaces, a family room with custom built-ins, three terraces, a rooftop deck and a three-car attached garage, according to listing information.

Walker placed the mansion on the market July 12, just days after the robbery.

In May, Walker sold his nine-room, 4,000-square-foot River North townhouse that is just a block away from the mansion that he has justlisted.

Built in 2003 and originally listed for almost $1.4 million, Walker’s former town home is in the same development where actor Vince Vaughn owns a townhouse. The home has four bedrooms, 3Q half baths, a fireplace and a three-car garage,according to listing information. Walker paid $1.3 million in 2004 for the home.

Built in 1911 and listed for $4,599,000, the eight-bedroom, all-brick mansion was designed by architect Ernest Mayo. Weigel’s widow, Vicki Truax Weigel, recently purchased a house a few blocks away.
