Dylan McDermott slashes his asking price — again — for his 4,000-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area; house now is up for $6.9M

Actor Dylan McDermott has given another sizable haircut to his asking price for his 4,000-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area, lowering his asking price all the way down to $6,900,000.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on McDermott’s latest price chop, which was effective Thursday, April 16. To anyone reading this blog, we’re sure that $6,900,000 must still sound like a pretty pricey asking price. And it is. But from McDermott’s perspective, the latest price cut must hurt deeply, since he originally had listed the house for $11,000,000.

We exclusively had written back in August about McDermott’s listing of the house for $11,000,000, and we then broke the story in February of his January 21 reduction of the asking price to $8,995,000.

As we noted in August, McDermott purchased the four-bedroom house in 1999 for $3,940,000 from actress Melanie Griffith and actor Antonio Banderas, who themselves had bought it in January 1997 from actress Michelle Pfeiffer and uber-TV show creator David E. Kelley.

Built in 1920, McDermott’s house has three baths, a two-story vaulted living room with a carved balcony, a den, and a second-story “muse” room, according to public records and listing information. Other features include original beams, stenciled walls, deep-set doorways, three fireplaces, a family room, and an eat-in Thomas Callaway kitchen, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 0.68-acre (29,447-square-foot) lot include a pool/spa area that overlooks the Riviera hills, a courtyard and fountain, and a 250-year-old oak tree, according to public records and listing information. The house is one of the first homes ever built in Brentwood, according to listing information.
