Dexter King pays $4.16M for one Malibu house, lists another for $3.495 million
Dexter King, who is the son of the late civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King and who now is the chairman of the Atlanta-based King Center, has paid $4.16 million for a 6,823-square-foot house in Malibu and has listed another, 4,705-square-foot house in Malibu for $3.495 million.

Your Mama over at the Real Estalker broke the scoop earlier this week that King, 46, had listed the smaller of the two houses for $3,495,000. This is just two years after King had purchased it for $2,055,000. However, in a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can add that King recently purchased another, larger house in Malibu, which is at 28177 Rey de Copas Lane and which sits on a 1.23-acre lot. Public records show that King has an office in the building at 23852 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. He first became a landowner in Malibu in 2005, purchasing the four-bedroom house at 2751 Rambla Pacifico Street that he is now selling. Features in the Rambla Pacifico house include four baths, soaring ceilings, an open design, and ocean views, all on 2.71 acres, according to public records and listing information. Check out listing information for the house that King is selling–complete with photos–here. King’s new house, on Rey de Copas Lane, is much larger but is on less property. Built in 1994, the four-bedroom house has six bathrooms, according to public records. Unfortunately, there was no listing information–and as a result, no photos–available for the house that King purchased. In Atlanta, King owns a two-bedroom, 1,498-square-foot, single-family house at 342 McGill Place that he purchased in 1987 for $118,178, according to public records.
