“Harry Potter” actor Daniel Radcliffe has paid $4,900,000 for a three-bedroom condo unit in Manhattan’s Morton Square development, and unlike his November 2007 real-estate purchase of a condo unit in Manhattan’s Soho area, Radcliffe intends to inhabit this apartment.  The New York Observer broke the story yesterday of the recording yesterday morning of Radcliffe’s purchase of the 2,446-square-foot unit, which is at 1 Morton Square in the Far West Village. However, Radcliffe’s purchase of the unit previously had been written about first by the New York Times, back on February 24. Records show that Radcliffe went to contract to buy the unit on November 14, with the deal closing February 20.  Unlike Radcliffe’s $4,289,700 purchase on November 21 of a unit in the development at 40 Mercer Street in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, which the actor purchased through his Gilmore Jacobs company and since has rented out, Radcliffe’s purchase of the Morton Square unit was made in his own name. The Times told readers in February that Radcliffe intends to live in the unit at least some of the time. Features in the unit include curved windows facing the Hudson River, marble and granite surfaces and a 500-bottle wine cellar. Radcliffe’s neighbors (or as he would write it, “neighbours”) in Morton Square include the Olsen twins, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler. We wrote about Arnett and Poehler’s doings in the building back on May 9, and more recently, we wrote on December 23 about the Olsens’ listing of their unit
