'Dancing with the Stars' co-host Samantha Harris and her husband, Michael Hess, who are new parents, have paid $1,600,000 to buy a Spanish-style house in a part of Los Angeles that is just west of the Century City area.  The December 31 issue of 'In Touch Weekly' (on newsstands now!) features a multi-page spread/puff piece on Harris and Hess' house that is very much worth checking out. Such features seldom provide much in the way of numbers (purchase price, house size, etc.), though, since they're invariably done with the cooperation of the celebrity being profiled, and celebrities usually don't like those kinds of details being made public. So, we'd like to weigh in on that part of Harris' housing situation. Public records show that Harris, 34, and Hess closed on the 2,950-square-foot house on February 9, with the sale being recorded on February 27. The four-bedroom house had been listed for $1,650,000, and had been on the market for nine weeks. Features in the stucco house, which was built in 1930, include an eat-in kitchen with a breakfast area, a library and a two-car garage, all on a 0.12-acre lot, according to public records and listing information. Interestingly, the New York Times, of all outlets, wrote a tiny blurb on the sale (without acknowledging that Harris was the buyer), back in April. Our only quibble with In Touch Weekly's report is: how on earth could the magazine's editors possibly have concluded that Ryan Seacrest is one of Harris' neighbors? A simple Mapquest search shows that the 'American Idol' host's house at 2809 Nichols Canyon Road, which he purchased through his Marie Trust in early 2006 for $11,500,000, lies a whopping 8.5 miles from Harris' new home.
