Comedian Carlos Mencia purchases actor Eddie Cibrian’s 8,560-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles’ Encino area, after it had been on the market for $4.395M; Cibrian, meanwhile, pays $2.5M for a 6,610-square-foot mansion in Calabasas, CA

Comedian Carlos Mencia has purchased actor Eddie Cibrian’s 8,560-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles’ Encino area for an undisclosed price, after the house last had been on the market for $4,395,000.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the purchase of the mansion at 4743 White Oak Avenue in Encino by Mencia. The deal closed on November 26 and was recorded on January 10, according to public records.

We wrote back on December 10 about Cibrian’s listing of his “Rancho Estate” mansion in Encino, which is walled and gated and which has a circular driveway and a porte cochere. Features in Mencia’s new mansion include eight baths, a two-story entry with a cupola, a skylight, a custom wrought iron staircase, a wrought iron chandelier, six en-suite bedrooms, and a family room with coffered ceilings, a wet bar and surround sound, according to listing information. The house also has a library with a fireplace and bookcases, a banquet-sized formal dining room, a professional theater with bi-level seating for 15 or more (and 7.1 Dolby surround sound, THX high definition, a large screen and a top-of-the-line projector), and a chef’s kitchen with a center island, granite counters, and stainless steel appliances including a Viking six-burner range and double ovens, two dishwashers and a separate SubZero refrigerator and freezer, according to listing information.

As if all that weren’t enough, the mansion in Encino also has an integrated phone system, a security system with monitors, a second staircase, a large attic storage room, a rooftop sundeck, extensive use of limestone, travertine, distressed hardwood floors, high ceilings, crown moldings, arches, French doors, four fireplaces (two of which are stone), custom light fixtures and a master suite with a fireplace, balcony, complete sound system, bathroom with dual showers, dual walk-in closets, spa tub and a bidet, according to listing information. Outside on the 0.48-acre property are a Bouquet Canyon edged pool with a bridge, patios, a barbecue pavilion, verdant lawns and a four-plus car garage, according to listing information.

Cibrian had listed the mansion for $4,800,000, $4,600,000 and finally for $4,395,000.

As for Cibrian, he has just paid $2,500,000 for a 6,610-square-foot, Mediterranean-style house in a guard-gated community in Calabasas, Calif., according to public records. Cibrian’s purchase of his new house, at 5497 Amber Circle in Calabasas, closed on January 7. The deal was recorded on January 14, according to public records.

Cibrian’s new house had been listed for $2,699,000 and at another time was on the market for $2,399,000. Features in the house, which was built in 1994, include six large bedrooms, six and a half baths, a formal living room, a formal dining room, a family room with a full bar, a sun room, an entertainment/game room, an exercise room, maid’s quarters, a double-door entry, cathedral ceilings, 18-inch crown moldings, granite floors, limestone floors, distressed hardwood floors, three hand-carved limestone fireplaces, and a kitchen with granite countertops, limestone flooring, a SubZero refrigerator and freezer, a center island and a breakfast area, according to listing information. Outside, the property has a large patio, a built-in barbecue, a sports court, a pool, a spa, a slide, multiple waterfalls, more than 75 fruit trees and a three-car garage, all on a 1.163-acre property, according to public records and listing information.
