Chicago TV reporter Leah Hope has her Chicago condo under contract after it was listed for $549K; meanwhile former WLS-TV political reporter Andy Shaw cuts the asking price of his B&B in Chicago from $3M to $2.85M

Check out Bob’s real estate column in the Chicago Tribune from this past Sunday, where he broke the news of current WLS-TV reporter Leah Hope having her three-bedroom, Chicago condo under contract to sell after it was listed for $549,000.

Also featured: Bob reports on former WLS-TV political reporter Andy Shaw, who now heads the Better Government Association, reducing the asking price of his bed-and-breakfast inn in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood from $3,000,000 to $2,850,000. (Bob previously had reported on Shaw’s $3 million listing of his place earlier this year.)

Sunday’s column also provides an update on the decision by chewing gum heir Bill Wrigley Jr. to take his never-occupied Chicago penthouse, which Bob previously wrote about and which had been listed at one time for a Chicago record $14 million, and offer it in pieces. Bob’s exclusive on Wrigley’s decision to offer the penthouse in separate units first appeared on the Tribune’s Chicago Breaking Business website, and then the same item appeared in this past Sunday’s column.

As if all that weren’t enough, Bob also broke the news of an 18-room, 9,759-square-foot mansion in Oak Brook, Ill. — which was offered as bond during the historic Family Secrets mob trial a few years ago — coming on the market for $8,499,000.
