Building contractor Ron Tutor's purchase price revealed in Beverly Hills, CA's Beverly Park area; Tutor paid $32.2M — and not the $36.7M that the Wall Street Journal had reported — for his massive, not-yet-completed, 27,000-square-foot mansion
Back on October 3, the Wall Street Journal’s “Private Properties” column broke the story that building contractor Ron Tutor had purchased a 27,000-square-foot mansion that was still under construction in Beverly Hills, Calif.’s gated Beverly Park neighborhood for $36.7 million. At the time, the deal had not even appeared in public records, and once it did a few weeks later, the deed lacked a purchase price.

Now, in a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on Tutor’s actual purchase price for the “Tuscan-inspired” mansion, given that the deal just cleared public records this past week. And records show that the Journal didn’t quite have the purchase price right — public records show that Tutor actually paid seller Lee Kort $32,200,000 for the mansion. Tutor, who is the chairman and CEO of the building contracting company Perini Corp., purchased the mansion on August 6, with the deal being recorded on September 15, according to public records. Up to now, Tutor has owned a 19,107-square-foot mansion on 3.39 acres in Hidden Hills, Calif. that is directly across the street from the 10,223-square-foot mansion that actor Brad Garrett recently sold for $7,500,000.
Tutor is the chairman and CEO of the building contracting company Perini Corp. Designed by architect Richard Landry, the nine-bedroom mansion — once it’s completed — will include 18 baths, a movie theater, a party room and a gym, according to listing information. Outdoor features on the 3.55-acre property will include a 75-foot pool, a tennis court, a tennis court pavilion/pool house, a waterfall and pond, a 110-yard par 3 golf hole, and a guest house, according to public records and listing information.
Kort previously had listed the house earlier this year for $49,000,000.
Even by the standards of Beverly Park, Tutor will be on some pretty exclusive turf. Next door to Tutor is a 2.603-acre parcel (with no address) that’s owned by actor Denzel Washington and that holds a 4,873-square-foot house that was built in 1999 (a residence for his relatives? His staff? A guest house, perhaps?). And next to that parcel is the 2.833-acre parcel that holds Washington’s 28,887-square-foot mansion.
