Actor Bruce Willis has paid $4,260,000 for a 20th-floor unit in the building at 220 Riverside Boulevard in Trump Place on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
The New York Observer's blog broke the story of Willis' purchase yesterday. Indeed, public records show that Willis, who in the past has owned properties through his Ix Nay Investment Trust, purchased the 2,318-square-foot unit in the name of the Bruce Willis Family Trust.
Records show that Willis went to contract to buy the Trump Place unit on October 11, and that the deal closed on October 25. The deal was recorded yesterday morning.
This isn't Bruce's first encounter with Donald Trump's properties. Back in 2000, he paid $5,250,000 through his Ix Nay Investment Trust for a 15-room duplex condo unit in Trump Tower in Manhattan; he sold that unit -- which he never moved into -- in August 2005 for $13,065,000, according to public records. Willis also owns a 10,379-square-foot house on close to an acre at 1005 Benedict Canyon in Beverly Hills, Calif., which his Ix Nay Investment Trust purchased in mid-2004 for exactly $9,000,000, according to public records.
Willis also was reported by the New York Post's fine celebrity real estate columnist in December 2005 to have gone to contract to buy a penthouse apartment at the Cipriani Residences in the former Regent hotel at 55 Wall Street in New York (reportedly agreeing to pay close to $10 million for the single-floor, approximately 4,000-square-foot unit), although public records don't indicate that a sale ever took place.
