Britney Spears re-lists her 7,453-square-foot house in the Beverly Hills, CA postal area, this time for $6.499M
Popwreck Britney Spears has placed her 7,453-square-foot house in the Beverly Hills, Calif. postal area — also known as the BH PO — back on the market for $6,499,000.
We know we are late to the party on this one, and that everybody and his/her brother have written about this as well (we’re not even going to bother to credit everyone, since we are truly the last ones to weigh in on this subject), but we wanted to start to catch up on some items that we’ve missed recently while we’ve been away from the blog (sorry, y’all!) with other writing projects (and computer problems). Spears placed the house, which is in the gated Summit neighborhood, back on the market on June 2.
The Los Angeles Times’ report last week was a bit misleading about when the house has been on the market. Spears actually *first* listed the house in 2007 for $7,495,000 — just weeks after her Love Shack Trust purchased the house for $6,750,000. She later reduced it to $7,200,000, and then took it off the market for a year. She then re-listed the house in September 2008 for $7,900,000 buying it — for $7,900,000 and later reduced the house’s asking price to $7,195,000 before taking it off the market in March. Now, it’s back on the market for an asking price that will guarantee that she will take a loss on the house.
Built in 2001, Spears’ home has six baths, a gated motor court, a wet bar, maid’s quarters, a library, a smoking room/den (perfect for Britney, given how much she likes puffing on cigarettes), a formal dining room, a grand entrance foyer, dramatic high ceilings and carved millwork, according to listing information. Other features include stone and mosaic tile floors, iron accents, and a master suite with his and hers baths, a fireplace and a “romantic loggia,” according to listing information. The house also has a chef’s kitchen with Viking appliances, a walk-in pantry and a nook opening to a spacious family room, according to listing information. Outside on the 0.37-acre (15,930-square-foot) property are a pool, a spa, and lush landscaping.

The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
