Bobby Darin’s former Hollywood Hills area home is on the market

A five-bedroom, midcentury house in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills area that the late big band performer and teen idol Bobby Darin lived in in the 1950s is on the market for $3,689,000.

The 4,250-square-foot house, at 1411 Rising Glen Road, is just across the street from the house at 1420 Rising Glen, which is currently on the market and which was owned by the late actor Brock Peters until his death in 2005.

Built in 1955, the Darin house has three and a half baths, wrap-around windows, exposed brick walls in the bedrooms, a stepdown living room centered on the fireplace, “classic fixture details” and a swimming pool, according to listing information. The promotional material also contains no shortage of gibberish, including this gem: “A creation of interior space in light & remarkable use of elemental qualities punctuate its every aspect.”
