Blago lists his condo; former Illinois Gov. Blagojevich places his Washington, DC condominium unit on the market for $570K
Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has listed his two-bedroom condominium unit in Washington, DC for $570,000.
This has been all over the newswires since Wednesday, so we have trouble pinpointing who wrote about it first. We would, however, like to highlight two particular stories that have been written about this listing. The Chicago Tribune’s Sara Olkon, a longtime colleague of ours, wrote a great story on Thursday about Blago’s listing of the unit in the Waterford building in DuPont Circle, which is at 1736 18th Street NW. And the NBC affiliate in DC posted an item on the listing on Wednesday, and currently has an updated version of the story (with a Thursday date on it) on its site.
Blagojevich (shown here with Sen. Roland Burris) lived in the 986-square-foot, third-floor unit while he was a three-term congressman, from 1997 until 2003, when he resigned because he had been elected governor of Illinois. He paid $183,000 in February 1997 to purchase the unit, according to public records
Features in the corner unit include hardwood floors, a fireplace, lots of windows and a balcony, according to listing information.

Blagojevich continues to own his principal residence, which is at 2934 W. Sunnyside Avenue on Chicago’s North Side.
