Basketball star Elton Brand has placed his three-bedroom, 5,471-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills area back on the market for $4,998,500, two years after he first had listed the house at close to $5 million. In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on Brand's re-listing of his walled and gated house at 8412 Carlton Way. Records show that Brand placed the house back on the market on June 5. Currently a free agent, Brand, 29, recently concluded seven seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers and widely is expected to sign with Oakland's Golden State Warriors (NBA free agent deals cannot be announced until Wednesday). Built in 2003, Brand's house has concrete, stone, stucco, glass and wood finishes throughout, along with three and a half baths, 20-foot ceilings, floating wall sections, Brazilian walnut floors, suspended staircases and two fireplaces, according to public records and listing information. Outside on the tiny, 0.15-acre lot are city views, a pool and garage spaces for five vehicles, according to public records and listing information. Brand purchased the house in early 2004 for $3,500,000, according to public records. Check out an online -- complete with photos. And, take a look at the Los Angeles Times' then-'Hot Property' columnist Ruth Ryon's write-up of Brand's house when it first was listed in June 2006 (before we started blogging). Brand owns several other properties, including a place at 942 S. Mansfield Avenue in Los Angeles that he purchased in August 2007 for $1,527,000, and a house in Peekskill, N.Y. that he has owned with his mother since 2002, according to public records.
