Ashley Olsen pays $1.575M for house in Los Angeles' Hancock Park area, and Ashley and her twin sister Mary-Kate re-list their 5,725-square-foot penthouse in NYC's West Village for $11.995M
Actress/megabrand Ashley Olsen has paid $1,575,000 for a four-bedroom, Spanish-style house in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood, and she and her twin Mary-Kate have placed the 5,725-square-foot penthouse unit in Manhattan’s West Village that they never lived in back on the market — again — for $11,995,000. Over the holidays, we’re following up on some items that we haven’t written on yet. First off, kudos to our friends over at the Real Estalker for breaking the story a few weeks ago of Olsen’s purchase of the 2,332-square-foot house at 461 N. Mansfield Avenue in Hancock Park. Indeed, records show that Olsen’s Isabella Missoni Revocable Trust paid $1,575,000 for the Hancock Park house on November 21, with the deal being recorded on December 6. Built in 1926, the Mansfield Avenue house has three baths and sits on a 0.18-acre lot, according to public records. It’s unclear whether Olsen truly intends to inhabit the modest (for L.A.) house, which is close to the street and hardly befitting of someone with her wealth and security needs. However, there’s no question that it was Ashley who bought the property, and the purchase marks the return of L.A.-area land ownership for one-half of the Olsen clan. (Her sister Mary-Kate remains a renter in the Hollywood Hills and has not yet purchased anything new through her Lola Bella Trust.) The Olsens’ previous ownership foray was their combined ownership through their Dualstar Entertainment Group (and later through their Isabella Missoni and Lola Bella Trusts) of the house at 153 Ashdale Place in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air area. The twins had owned that 3,675-square-foot house, which was built in 1962, from mid-2004 until selling it in late 2006 to something called the Grace Generation Trust (a celebrity?) for $3,850,000, according to public records. The Olsens’ perpetually-rented-out, 12-room pad in Manhattan’s West Village is a bit more of a puzzler. Bought new and Features in the Morton Square penthouse include four and a half baths, 53 large picture windows, a 53-foot-long entertainment space, a glass-enclosed wood-burning fireplace, and an eat-in kitchen with a home office, a walk-in pantry, an oversized granite island, all stainless steel appliances, and a Viking Professional six-burner stove, according to listing information. Other features include a master suite with a large private dressing and an oversized walk-in closet, a library with 50 feet of custom book shelving and an en suite full bathroom, a laundry room, California closets, and a Niles Music System, according to listing information. ostensibly (though never lived in by them) intended for what wound up being the twins’ brief stay in college at New York University, the five-bedroom penthouse unit at 1 Morton Square is back on the market yet again, as the New York Observer’s Max Abelson reported a few weeks back. The pair never have occupied the place, and instead reportedly have rented it out since buying it in December 2004 for $7,300,000, according to public records.

With foreign investors from the Middle east,China and other non-speaking “English” countries. They fly over buy up real estate,,tear down then flip it for a profit.,,Hollywood isnt what it used to be when I first stepped into this former glitz city.
