Ashlee Simpson sells 9,005 square foot home
Singer Ashlee Simpson has sold her 9,005-square-foot house in Encino, Calif., north of Los Angeles for $5.7 million, according to public records and the Los Angeles Times (LA Times)
Simpson had bought the four-bedroom house, which is on a 1.19-acre parcel, in July 2005 for $4.5 million. ? However, the paper reported that the house complete with a 2,200-square-foot master-bedroom suite that takes up the entire second floor and has a 700-square-foot closet was too big for the 22-year-old younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson. ? The house also has a meditation room, a gym with skylights and ballet barres, a spa for two, and a sauna, the Times reported.
Also in L.A., former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum has paid $2,575,000 for a ranch-style house on the Sunset Strip, according to public records and the Los Angeles Times.
Built in 1960, the 2,395-square-foot house’s previous owners had listed it for $2.7 million, according to public records and the Times. ? Features in the house include three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings and wood floors, the paper reported. ? Other features include a great room, a steam shower and a living room that opens through French doors to tropical grounds with a koi pond, waterfall, fire pit, spa and sauna, the Times reported.
The paper didn’t report, however, that Sorum in late 2003 had paid $1.15 million to buy a six-bedroom, 3,966-square-foot duplex from comedian Andy Dick.
Also, the founding member and lead singer of the funk trio the Gap Band Charlie Wilson is selling his “gentleman’s horse ranch” near Agua Dulce and Acton, Calif. for $5.3 million. ? And, an 8.790-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion that once was owned by Spanish-born concert pianist Jose Iturbi is listed for $12.5 million, down from a previous listing price of $13.95 million.
Built in 1926 and located on a 1.115-acre parcel, the eight-bedroom, Spanish Colonial Revival house at 915 N. Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills went up on the market after Iturbia’s companion, Marion Seabury, died in January at age 88, according to public records. ? Features in the house include 7.5 bathrooms, his-and-hers master suites, a 20-by-45-foot pool, a sun room, and detached guest quarters, the Times reported.

The Citrus house is for her parent and her brother Todd and Jennifer live in the Gardner house. She is being a good daughter and sharing the wealth with the family.

What’s wrong with having a big house if you can afford it? Just because you live by yourself or with one other person instead of six doesn’t mean you should be in a smaller place; that doesn’t make any sense. People, by nature, need space.

Actually it wasn’t just two people. Nikki had three kids from a previous marriage who visited often and she had her son who lived with her, plus their had a child together. So they needed more than enough room.
