Actress Scarlett Johansson has paid a reported $8 million for a house in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills.

Us magazine first reported on Johansson’s purchase, and the Real Estalker wrote a nice follow-up on the purchase as well. Public records show that Johansson’s Tupelo Honey Trust purchased the house at 7222 Senalda Drive on April 27 from director Harold Becker, with the sale being recorded on May 8. And, Becker and his “costume designer/producer wife” held an estate sale at the house on Saturday, April 21.

We don’t have Johansson’s exact purchase price for the house yet, but we will soon. When we do, we’ll provide it for you here.

Johansson’s new house was not on the market, and we unfortunately don’t have any listing photos to share with you. Built in 1931, the seven-bedroom, 4,352-square-foot house has seven baths and sits on a 0.73-acre parcel, inside a hairpin turn on Senalda Road, according to public records.

As for Johansson’s other dwellings, her mother, Melanie Sloan, paid $250,000 in January 2001 for an eighth-floor, 1,148-square-foot unit in the Hollywood Versailles tower at 7135 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles that Scarlett has been rumored to crash at when she has been in L.A. This is the same building where celebrity Tara Reid (we hesitate to actually call her an “actress”) owns a 10th-floor, 1,087-square-foot unit that she purchased in 2000 for $266,500, according to public records.

And Johansson’s mother also paid $1,950,000 in January 2006 to purchase a 1,400-square-foot duplex condo unit for her in the building at 66 Leonard Street in Manhattan’s TriBeCa area, according to public records.

[...] The unit is just across the street from the Hollywood Versailles Tower at 7135 Hollywood Boulevard, where all sorts of luminaries have lived, including Scarlett Johansson’s mother, and Tara Reid, who paid $266,500 in 2000 for her 10th-floor, 1,087-square-foot unit. Zillow lists the 7 million as the sale price but says the house is worth only 4.5 million. Do movie stars or ack-resses always overpay for their real estate?
