Actress Sally Field has placed her 5,964-square-foot house in Malibu, Calif. on the market for $6,950,000.
Credit Ann Brenoff of the Los Angeles Times with beating us to the punch today on reporting the news of this listing, which hit the market yesterday (March 10). We saw the listing for this five-bedroom house online yesterday but hadn't yet pursued the ownership of it -- and we really wish we had! But, that's why Brenoff has the job that she does, so she deservedly got a fine scoop with Field's listing of her longtime spread in the hills above Malibu.
Built in 1958, Field's two-story house has six baths, an updated chef's kitchen, an oversized master wing, a media room, a guest wing, a separate guest apartment, and a Crestron electronics system, according to public records and listing information. Outdoor features on the slightly over 3-acre (either 132,246-square-foot or 133,293-square-foot) property include beautifully manicured grounds, a lighted tennis court, a pool, a three-stall horse paddock, a hay barn, and direct access to riding trails, according to public records and listing information.
Field, 62, purchased the property in Malibu for $4,822,500 in 2004, after selling her longtime, 4,410-square-foot house on 7th Helena Drive in Los Angeles' Brentwood area to actress Naomi Watts' trust for $4,205,000, according to public records.
We have no idea where Field is off to. When we find out, we'll of course provide that information here. And, we'll keep you posted on if she is able to unload this property for her asking price (we have our doubts!). Stay tuned.
