Actress Lucy Lawless, the onetime star of the syndicated TV program "Xena: Warrior Princess" who now has directed her efforts toward a singing career, and her producer husband, Rob Tapert, have listed their gated house in Los Angeles' Studio City neighborhood for $3,695,000.

First off, kudos to the Real Estalker for delivering the scoop on this one. As she noted, public records show that Lawless and Tapert paid $1,525,000 in late 1998 to purchase the house and its 0.61-acre property in Studio City from writer-producer Miranda Craig. This was at the height of the success of "Xena," of which Lawless was the star and Tapert was the executive producer. The show aired from 1995 until 2001.

Craig, according to a 1998 Los Angeles Times article, had inherited the estate from her late parents, who had owned it since the 1970s. Craig's parents both were celebrities in their own right: singing teacher-to-the-stars David Craig, who died in 1998, and his wife, actress Nancy Walker (best known as Rhoda's mother on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"), who died in 1992.

As the Real Estalker also noted, there is some difference of opinion over the exact size of the house. Public records show that it measures 4,847 square feet, while listing information states that the house is approximately 5,600 square feet. The difference may refer to the guest house, or alternately, Lawless may have made a small addition to the house that the assessor's office hasn't taken note of yet.

Built in 1951, the house has a two-story living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a media room, an eat-in chef's kitchen, a master suite with a fireplace, a bathroom with a steam shower and a spa tub, a loft library, and French doors opening to a patio, according to listing information. Also on the property are a pool and spa and a two-story guest house with a glass enclosed dining room, a butler's kitchen, two bedroom suites, an office and a gym, according to listing information.

And as the Real Estalker also noted, actor Erik Estrada is a neighbor of Lawless, having owned the 3,253-square-foot house just down the street from Lawless since 1979, according to public records.

It's not yet clear where Lawless and Tapert are off to. They also own a house in her native New Zealand. However, we would expect them to eventually purchase another property in the L.A. area. We'll keep you posted on where they eventually end up.
