Actress Annabeth Gish pays $1.65M for a 1,476-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Valley Village area

Actress Annabeth Gish has paid $1,650,000 for a 1,476-square-foot house in Los Angeles’ Valley Village neighborhood.

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on Gish’s purchase of the house in Valley Village, a deal that closed on July 2 and was recorded on August 14. We have to say, this is one of the rare celebrity buys in Valley Village, which originally was considered to be part of the North Hollywood area of L.A. Today, however, Valley Village is considered a separate and distinct (if somewhat celebrity-light) precinct, south of North Hollywood and north of Studio City.

Built in 1939, Gish’s new house may or may not officially have been on the market when she bought it. One online listing site suggests that it was on the market for $1,575,000 (implying that Gish paid above ask — hard to see), while another flatly called it an “off-market listing.” Regardless, public records state that the house has two bedrooms and one bath, and that it sits on a 0.21-acre (8,999-square-foot) lot, according to public records.

Gish has owned a 2,334-square-foot house at 1409 Schuyler Road in the Beverly Hills, Calif. postal area (also known as the BH PO), which we had written about as a “Which celebrity’s house is this?” feature, back on July 31. At that time, Gish had listed the BH PO house for $2,149,000. That BH PO house still has not sold (at least according to the public records databases that we have access to), although it has subsequently been reduced in price to $1,995,000.

This is really weird… I live in The Netherlands, Europe and out here a new built two story-house with a small garden in a good neighborhood, costs at least $ 475,000! (After converting the currency of course, lol)You’re lucky if it has more than three bedrooms and you can forget about a second bathroom!
… So what I mean is, spending & 1,65M on a home is not that much, is it…? Of course house prices are rediculous overhere… And that hasn’t got anything to do with the financial crisis… yet… Overhere, the government and city counsils are trying to build many houses in a very small area… So these houses are never that big, unless you live really far from the city.
Hey, I’m already thinking of moving to California, I already speak the language (plus french and german)and someone overthere must be in need of a good translator.. Right? Lol…

I wish we could see pics of the inside of her new home, her other house has pictures - she did a great job decorating it!

Good luck to you, my dear!

Love ya,
