Actor Zach Braff finally has closed on that long-rumored purchase of a unit in New York City, with public records showing that the actor has paid $3,200,000 for a 2,500-square-foot unit in the building at 840 Broadway.  On Thursday, the New York Observer's Max Abelson broke the news of the purchase, which closed on November 9 (it appears) and which was recorded on Wednesday, November 28. Rumors had abounded throughout the summer that Braff had made an offer to purchase the 2,500-square-foot loft in the Union Square building from director Tom O'Horgan. We had written a post on those rumors back on August 1. Braff used the same Second Stix Trust to purchase the loft that he used in 2003 to buy his 2,173-square-foot house on Lookout Mountain Avenue in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills. He purchased that house, which was built in 1947, for $1,065,000, according to public records. Braff appears to be planning to keep the Lookout Mountain house, even with "Scrubs" fast coming to an end. The house is not currently on the market.
