Actor Ving Rhames lists a five-bedroom house in Los Angeles' Brentwood area for $2.699M
Actor Ving Rhames has placed a five-bedroom Tuscany-style house that he owns in Los Angeles’ Brentwood area on the market for $2,699,000.
The Los Angeles Times’ Ann Brenoff broke the story a few days back of Rhames’ listing of the two-story house, which presently is owned in the name of his wife, Deborah, and which came on the market on October 8. Rhames, 49, paid $2,500,000 in April 2005 for the house, which measures either 4,129 square feet (according to public records) or 4,700 square feet (according to listing information).
Built in 1950, this house has six and a half baths, four bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, and a chef’s eat-in kitchen with Viking appliances and granite counters, according to public records and listing information. Other features include walnut hardwood floors, a formal dining room, a service entrance, a large bonus room, and a master suite with a spa tub, a steam shower and walk-in closets, according to listing information. Outside on the 0.16-acre (6,752-square-foot) lot are mature trees and lush greenery, according to public records and listing information.
Although Brenoff didn’t mention this, Rhames has owned numerous other properties in the L.A. area over the years. Let’s first deal with the ones that Rhames no longer owns:
–A 2,120-square-foot house at 3112 Inglewood Boulevard in L.A.’s Mar Vista area that Rhames and his then-wife Valerie purchased for $425,000 in 1997 and sold in 2000 for $475,000, according to public records;
–A house in Santa Monica, Calif. that Rhames quit-claimed the ownership of to Valerie in 1999 upon their divorce;
–A now-demolished, 3,435-square-foot house at 226 N. Tigertail Road in Brentwood (upon which an 11,677-square-foot mansion was built in 2004) that Rhames purchased in 1999 for $2,500,000 and sold in 2000 for an undisclosed price to a seller who almost immediately turned around and sold it again for $2,980,000, according to public records;
–A now-demolished, 3,928-square-foot house at 1737 Mandeville Lane in Brentwood (upon which a 6,999-square-foot house was built in 2001) that Rhames purchased in October 1999 for an undisclosed price (well over $1 million) and that he sold in late 2000 for $1,750,000, according to public records; (Someone please tell the great people at celebrityaddressaerial.com that Rhames no longer owns this property.)
–A 4,152-square-foot house on a 1.423-acre parcel at 4234 Chevy Chase Drive in La Canada Flintridge that Rhames and his current wife Deborah purchased in July 2002 for an undisclosed price and sold in June 2005 for $3,175,000, according to public records;
–And a 1,220-square-foot house at 4446 Chevy Chase Drive in La Canada Flintridge that Rhames purchased in February 2003 for $629,000 and sold in 2005 for $775,000, according to public records.
Properties that Rhames still owns (in addition to the one mentioned above) are the following:
–A 10,613-square-foot house on a 1.119-acre lot in Brentwood that Rhames purchased in 2000 for $4,750,000, according to public records (and which the Los Angeles Times’ Ruth Ryon wrote about in 2001, as you can see;
–A 5,900-square-foot house on a 0.59-acre lot in Brentwood (that is next door to the 10,613-square-foot house just above) that Rhames purchased in 2005 for $6,500,000, according to public records;
–And a 2.2-acre property in Santa Barbara that Rhames purchased in 2005 for an undisclosed price, according to public records.

With foreign investors from the Middle east,China and other non-speaking “English” countries. They fly over buy up real estate,,tear down then flip it for a profit.,,Hollywood isnt what it used to be when I first stepped into this former glitz city.
