Actor Kevin Spacey has cut the asking price for his duplex condominium unit in Manhattan's TriBeCa area from $5,000,000 to $4,675,000. The New York Post's fine celebrity real estate columnist Braden Keil today breaks the news of Spacey's recent price cut. However, we think it's safe to say that none of us celebrity real estate gossips even *knew* that Spacey owns a unit in Manhattan! The very private, Oscar-winning actor has done an incredible job over the years -- until now -- of keeping his name out of celebrity real estate gossip columns. Records show that Spacey's Root Trust purchased the top-floor duplex unit, which is at 5 Harrison Street in TriBeCa, in 2000 for an undisclosed price. There is tremendous difference of opinion about the size of Spacey's unit. Public records state that it measures 3,418 square feet, while listing information calls it 2,363 square feet. Meanwhile, Keil reports that the unit contains 'nearly 2,300 square feet.' In any case, Spacey's three-bedroom condo unit has two and a half baths and a Crestron system controlling the window shades, lighting, entertainment system and the Internet, according to listing information. Other features include a wraparound terrace with open views, a built-in grill, planters at every turn, custom lighting a sound system, a timed irrigation system and retractable awnings, according to listing information. Live Oak Drive in The Oaks area of Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood. His Root Trust purchased that house in December 1997 for $2,135,000, according to public records.
