Actor Frank Langella has paid $2,100,000 for a co-op unit on Manhattan's Central Park West.
The New York Observer's The Real Estate blog yesterday broke the story of Langella's purchase of the fourth-floor unit in the 15-story, 97-unit building at 336 Central Park West, which was built in 1929. Indeed, public records show that representatives for Langella, 68, handled much of the paperwork surrounding the purchase on February 1 and February 4. The purchase was recorded with the city on Tuesday morning.
Contrary to the Observer's report, Langella's new purchase is of a cooperative unit, not a condominium unit. Also, the Observer somehow missed that Langella has been a longtime owner of a lower-level unit in 336 Central Park West. Property records are murky, but it's clear that Langella has owned the lower-level unit at least since 2002.
