$18.5M purchase price revealed for Hard Rock Café co-founder’s new Beverly Hills mansion
We finally have a sale price for the 8,110-square-foot, Beverly Hills mansion that Hard Rock Café co-founder Peter Morton purchased late last year from radio station mogul Norman Pattiz: $18.5 million. The amount that Morton paid for the eight-bedroom mansion at 1225 Angelo Drive is decidedly below the $20 million figure that the Los Angeles Times’ “Hot Property” column had quoted last November as its sale price. Built in 1940, the mansion, which we first wrote about on November 24, first was listed for $27.5 million in May 2006 by Pattiz, who founded Westwood One in 1974. The mansion later was reduced to $19.95 million. The mansion sits on a 4.1-acre knoll and had been owned by Pattiz since 1986, when he purchased it from record executive and film producer David Geffen. No listing information or photo information is available for the mansion. Separately, also late last year, Pattiz, who also has a house in Montecito, Calif., sold an adjacent, 2,080-square-foot house on a nearly 1-acre site at 1185 Angelo Drive to a woman from New York for $3.5 million, according to public records.
